The IOP involves three hour group therapy meetings, 3 days a week with day and evening New Beginning Recovery sessions. This program allows patients to receive intensive support while maintaining their daily responsibilities and commitments. Outpatient treatment can be considered the lowest intensity level of addiction treatment. It is ideal for early phase addiction or lower intensity addictions. Peer group support, 12-step programs, and individual counseling may still be used and anti-addiction medication.
